“The Mission of God’s People” by Christopher Wright is a foundational contribution to this discussion. I love its good and generous use of Scripture, the continuity of thought from the OT through the NT, the BIGNESS OF GOD and its broad treatment of the redemption from the beginning to end.
I especially enjoy the manner in which he speaks. It is a strong teaching book that doesn’t generate useless controverseys, and it lays the groundwork for understanding how wide and deep the determination of God is to restore what is fallen, in rebellion and lost.
His treatment of this subject also provides solid reasoning for immitating God in his “costly compassion, commitment to justice, caring generosity and redemptively effective action”.
