Our Team
The ELI team is in formation. (Well, truth be told, we are always in formation.) Currently, there are six of us. Each one is committed to being active in mission and together we bring extensive experience. We have each seen some success and our fair share of failures. And even though we might not be the smartest guys in the world, hopefully we are smart enough to be learning from our experiences. All in all, each of us possesses a strong commitment to follow the teachings and example of Jesus and as we do so to walk alongside others to help them do the same. We consider ourselves to be more coaches and encouragers then we do experts.
As a team we are far from complete. We are eager to grow the group and would welcome men and women from other regions of this vast country to join with us!
Jay Lehman
Jay Lehman has spent most of his life in central Ontario; born in Bancroft, graduated from Ontario Bible College and educated by life and his love for the wilderness. Jay and his wife parent 3 active young boys. Currently he is the lead pastor of Auburn Bible Chapel, Peterborough. Recently Jay along with a small team launched out and planted a new church with a strong missional flavour/ oriented around Trent University. He is passionate to see the church more fully realize it's missional potential and keenly pursues mentoring the next generation, making full use of the wilderness context as he does so, in the hopes of preparing them for the challenges ahead.

Randy Hein
After completing degrees at SFU and Regent College, Randy and his wife Marcy moved to Vancouver Island. Twelve years ago, he and his friends planted The Place Community, a church birthed out of the 'missional/ emerging' conversation. While Randy perceives himself as a somewhat reluctant leader, he feels privileged to pastor a creative and passionate grassroots community. He has incredible fondness for young leaders, and desires to see them mentored relationally, developed theologically and engaged socially.

Jay Gurnett
Jay Gurnett still loves being married to Marg. They have five kids and 7 grandkids (these are old people!). Jay spent about 5-10 years each as a newspaper reporter/editor, performing arts presenter, college/university professor, pastor. Nowadays he helps Vision Ministries Canada help new churches get started, spends some time drawing together an “incarnational organic community” in London ON, and flips houses with his son-in-law Andrew.
Jay has hung around university-aged people since he was one. New weird Christian communities and things are what interest him most.

Jeremy Horne
Jeremy is husband to Mary and dad to three adult kids. He considers himself an activist, mentor and initiator. He believes that each person is born with a life mission or purpose and that real fulfillment comes as we discover and embrace that mission. He feels that God’s invitation to know him and then to be a person who brings life to others, a life infused with the gospel, is central to this mission. He has spent almost thirty years inviting people to discover and embrace their life mission and in mentoring and coaching merging leaders, serving in a wide variety of contexts.

Mike Stone
Mike Stone is the lead pastor at 'ForestView – Church Without Walls' in Oakville ON. He was born and raised in Sarnia where he met his wife Sharon. They have three children (2 boys and a girl) at various stages of life… almost married, heading off to university and mid high school. During two plus decades of congregational ministry Mike has been involved in ministries relating to youth, worship, discipleship, pastoral care, outreach and teaching. He is a graduate of Tyndale College and Seminary (B.R.S. 1987; M.Div 1994) and is currently pursuing a D.Min program at Fuller Theological Seminary . Through his engagement in the missional conversation he has become deeply convinced that the Church's primary mission in the world is to serve as a sign, symbol and preview of God's Kingdom. In his spare time Mike likes to exegete movies, dabble in the culinary arts and occasionally you can find him on a treadmill. Mike is a loyal, life-long Cowboys fan. Go Romo!
