Church LeadersIt’s a good thing for a church leader to have a desire to be fruitful and to please his/her Lord. But how much should we expect of ourselves? How should we measure success in matters concerning the Kingdom of God? Or should we even have such concerns? Most of us wrestle with these questions. We know that God has not made us all the same. He gifts and calls some for great and public ministries, some for more private and modest enterprises and still others for particular ministries at specific times. Comparing ourselves to one another or competing with one another can lead to all kinds of trouble. The apostle Paul says that "Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don't think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us." Romans 12:3 To this he adds in vs. 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. To become what God has designed us to be we must learn to:
